John Holmes Huntley

John Holmes Huntley, son of Oliver Dennison and Mary (Stark) Huntley, born 7 September 1829 in Canajoharie, New York and died 21 February 1912 in Visalia, California. Married Ninnette Radcliff Wilford 23 August 1879 in San Rafael, California.

Old Pioneer Died
Well known citizin of the community passes away at a ripe old age-
At 9 o'clock last night, at his home two miles from town onMineral King Avenue, John H. Huntley, one of the best known of the pioneers of California and well known capitalist passed away at the age of 82 years, after an extended illness. Death was due to old age. Mr. Huntley was a native of New York. When a young man, in 1853, Mr.Huntley came to California. For the past twenty-seven years he has lived near Visalia. Mr. Huntley was a good farmer and a shrewd business man and died possessed of much property. He is survived byhis widow and two sons, Chester and Wilfred.
It is announced that the funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, from the late residence. The local G.A.R. post will have charge of the ceremony and the interment will be in the Visalia cemetery.
