Chester Stanley Huntley

Chester Stanley Huntley, son of John Holmes and Ninettee (Wilford) Huntley, born 8 January 1885 in Visalia, California and died 14 September 1959 in Visalia, California. Married Myrtle Iris Dailey 31 October 1916 in Visalia, California.

C.S. Huntley of Visalia dies
Funeral services are scheduled Thursday at 10 a.m. for Chester Stanley Huntley, 74, who died Monday afternoon at his 3922 E. Mineral King Ave. home.
A native Visalian, Mr. Huntley was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Holmes Huntley, who came to Visalia 1852. The family moved to Berkeley in 1900 where Mr. Huntley attended schools. He had been a resident of Visalia for the last 55 years, and was married to Iris Dailey on Oct. 31, 1916. He was a member of Visalia Elks Lodge 1298, and Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Dority of Visalia; one grandchild, Rosemary Iris Dority, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Hadley Funeral Chapel and will be conducted by the Visalia Elks Lodge, assisted by E.R. Connelly. Burial will be in the family plot in the Visalia District Cemetery.

Chester Huntley, Son of 1852 Valley Family, dies at 74
Visalia, Tulare Co. - Funeral services for Chester S. Huntley, 74, a son of early day Visalia district residents, will be held at 10 AM Thursday in the Hadley Chapel. Burial will be in a family plot in the Visalia Cemetery.
Visalia Elks Lodge 1298 will officiate, assisted by E.R. Connelly.
Huntley, who died yesterday in his ranch home east of Visalia, was born east of Visalia to the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Huntley, who moved to this district in 1852.
The family moved in 1900 to Berkeley, and he attended schools there and in Oakland before returning to ranch east of Visalia the past 55 years.
He married the former Iris Dailey in Visalia in 1916. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Woodmen of the World in Visalia.
He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Dority of Visalia, a grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Huntley Funeral Held
Funeral services were held today for Chester Stanley Huntley, 74, a native of Visalia, who died Monday.
The services were under the auspices of Visalia Elks Lodge No. 1298 with E.R. Connelly officiating. Marian George was the organist.
Casket bearers were Clarence Searcey, Arthur M. Ogden, Tom Ogden, Roy Jones, Earl Whitendale and William Duran.
Burial was in the Visalia Cemetery.
