George W. Dailey

George Washington Dailey, son of Parisy Curtis and Nancy (O'Brien) Daily, born 24 June 1851 in New York and died 29 October 1938 in Visalia, California. Married Mary Ann Bacon 3 October 1875 in Visalia, California.

Rites to be held for Tulare Pioneer

Funeral services will be conducted in the Hadley Funeral Parlors here tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock for George W. Dailey, a pioneer of Tulare County who died Saturday at his home here.
Rev. Earl Vanderiff of the Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in the Visalia City Cemetery.
Dailey was born in New York June 24, 1851. The family moved to Iowa, then came to California in a covered wagon, settling in Sacramento first, then moving to Tulare County in 1868.
Dailey had made his home at Visalia for sixty four years. His wife, Mrs. Mary A. Bacon Dailey whom he married in Visalia, died two years ago.
Surviving are two sons, John C. Dailey of Porterville and Harry Dailey of Visalia; five daughters, Mrs. Robert B. Tucker, Mrs. Walter Brown and Mrs. Chester Huntley of Visalia and Mrs. Norman Schultz of Delano; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

George W. Dailey Pioneer Resident of County, Passes
George W. Dailey, 87, a pioneer resident of Tulare county, died Saturday night at his ranch home near Visalia after a short illness. Dailey was stricken with a stroke 10 days ago and later he developed pneumonia.
A native of New York, Dailey was born on June 24, 1851. It was in 1864 that he came to California with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. P.C. Dailey, settling in Sacramento. Dailey attended the Sacramento schools and moved to Visalia in 1868. He was married to Mary A. Bacon in Visalia 65 years ago.
Dailey had lived on the same ranch for the past 64 years. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Funeral services will be held at the Hadley chapel Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, with Rev. J. Earl Vandagriff officiating. Interment will take place in the family plot at the Visalia cemetery beside his wife who died in January,1937.
He is survived by two son, John C. Dailey of Porterville and Harry Dailey of Visalia; four daughters, Mrs. Robert B. Tucker, Mrs. Walter Brown and Mrs. Chester Huntley of Visalia and Mrs. Norman Schultz of Delano. Twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.
