Mary A. Dailey

Mary Ann (Bacon) Dailey, daughter of John and Margaret (Hall) Bacon, born 25 February 1858 in Missouri and died 31 January 1937 in Visalia, California. Married George Washington Dailey 3 October 1875 in Visalia, California.

Pioneer Visalia Woman is Buried
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary D. Dailey, 78-year-old pioneer of the Visalia district, will be held at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning at the Hadley funeral parlors with Rev. J. Earl Vandagriff officiating. Mrs. Dailey, wife of George W. Dailey, came to Visalia when she was two years old and has lived continuously in this district for the past 76 years. She died here Sunday noon.
Mrs. Dailey was born in Missouri. When two years old she crossed the plains in a covered wagon with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bacon. After briefly settling in Sacramento, the family moved to Visalia.
Mr. and Mrs. Dailey were married in 1885. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary two years ago.
Mrs. Dailey was a member of the Latter Day Saints church.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Dailey is survived by two sons, John C. Dailey of Porterville and Harry Dailey of Visalia; four daughters, Mrs. Robert B. Tucker, Mrs. Walter Brown and Mrs. Chester Huntley of Visalia and Mrs. Norman Schulz of Delano; three sisters, Mrs. L.D. Mathewson of Visalia, Mrs. A.J. Teague of Exeter, and Mrs. G.B. Ralph of Oildale; two brothers James and Alex Bacon of Hanford; 12 grandchildren and seven great grand-children.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary D. Dailey, 79, wife of George W. Dailey of this city, who died yesterday, will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock in the Hadley Funeral Parlors with Rev. Earl Vandegriff officiating.
Surviving her are her husband; two sons, John Dailey of Porterville and Harry Dailey of Visalia; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Tucker, Mrs. Walter Brown, and Mrs. Chester Huntley of Visalia and Mrs. Norman Schultz of Delano, and three sisters, Mr. L.D. Mathewson of Visalia, A.J. Teague of Exeter and Mrs. G.B. Ralph of Oakdale.
Mrs. Dailey crossed the plains at the age of 2 years with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bacon, and settled at Sacramento. Two years later the family moved to Visalia, where she had lived for seventy-six years. She was married in 1875 to George W. Dailey.
