Walter C. and Hazel (Dailey) Brown

Walter Clinton Brown, born 6 August 1880 in Visalia, California and died 5 April 1966 in Visalia, California. Married Hazel Dailey in 1909.

Walter Brown of Visalia Dies
Walter Clinton Brown, a lifelong Visalian who spent his entire career ranching in this area, died yesterday afternoon at his 3911 E. Mineral King Ave. home after a long illness.
Mr. Brown attended Visalia schools, served as a volunteer fireman many years and played on local baseball teams in Visalia’s early years.
He also was known for his knowledge of grafting, budding and pruning practices on citrus trees.
Mr. Brown married Hazel Dailey in Visalia in 1909. She survives him.
He also leaves a son, Harry Brown of Long Beach; tow daughters, Mrs. Mary Thornbury and Mrs. Lois Pollock of Visalia, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Brooks-Miller Funeral Home by E.R. Connelly, will burial in the Visalia Cemetery.

Hazel (Dailey) Brown, daughter of George W. and Mary A. (Bacon) Dailey, born 22 September 1891 in Visalia, California and died 25 March 1978. Married Walter C. Brown in 1909.

Visalia - Funeral services for Hazel Brown, 86, of Visalia, who died Saturday, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Miller Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Visalia Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born in Visalia. She married Walter Brown in 1909, and the couple lived on a small ranch east of Visalia where Brown was a pruner and grafter. He died in 1966.
She is survived by a son, Harry of Woodland; two daughters, Lois Pollock and Mary Thornbury, both of Visalia; a sister, Iris Huntly of Visalia; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Miller Memorial Chapel for Hazel Brown, 86, a life-long Visalia resident who died Saturday in a Visalia hospital.
The Rev. Robert Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in Visalia Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Dailey were early residents of Visalia.
Mrs. Brown attended East Lynne School here. In 1909, she married Walter C. Brown. The couple operated a small ranch on Lovers Lane. Brown died in 1966.
Mrs. Brown is survived by one son, Harry Brown of Woodland; two daughters, Lois Pollock and Mary Thornbury, both of Visalia; one sister, Iris Huntley of Visalia; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
